My Bio
Figurative art is characterized by representing images whose forms can be recognized, sometimes these are lifelike and some others distorted. Western art honored figurative art before the twentieth century trends.
In the work of Diana Castilla an attachment to figuration is appreciated offering a wide variety of themes that include the fantastic, oneiric, strange and illustrative. An exploration on which she is referenced by the chrome images instructing us on an imaginary out of time and space scene; an alternate reality full of magic and dreams.

It is important to mention the predominance of the sweet and tender feminine figures, completely unknown to contemporaneity violence, sighing longing for another era chronologically and geographically distant.
We can appreciate the desire and subtle insistence of the artist to invite the spectator to penetrate its world, populated by spiritual beings like angels and fairies; materialized in real life ballerinas or romantic look virginal women, either between flowers and tropical vegetation, in dark of night alchemical or solemn old scenarios. The wings of fragile creatures in the severity of human beings have always invited to meet the old yearning to fly, to move freely through the air, a constant in the iconography of the heavenly.

This series of paintings fill us with fantasy and pays tribute to the distance and remoteness of the crude story on which we subsist.
